When light hits the thousands of tiny hand carved gouges in the lamps face the surface appears to tremble, or quake. The low wide form of the "Quake pendant light" is designed to be seen, so is best hung above the head.
The hand carved face catches the light and highlights the meticulous carved radiating grooves, and contrasts beautifully with the clean, smooth central scoop, and tapered edges.
The ebonized finish is achieved by staining Ash, an extremely porous, pale timber with india ink. The ink is then sealed with several coats of clear hard wax oil. Not much more needs be said about this stunning finish, the pictures do a better job than we ever could, except to suggest these as a perfect choice for the minimalist modern interior, where poise and presence are the name of the game.
Each light is hand turned, and finished with several coats of clear hard wax oil. Each light comes with all neccecary fittings, 1.5m of braided black fabric cable, and matching timber ceiling rose. The lamp holds its own weight, and must be used with a low wattage E27 LED bulb.
