We could wax lyrical about this piece all day, but nothing would quite do this piece of timber justice. The coffee table's top has been turned from a very small quantity of Locally sourced Cornish Ash we came across. The slab top piece top was taken from a particularly old, and wide tree and in unique and intriguing at every turn.
The board had several voids which ran right through the board. These have been filled with clear resin, which keeps the character and individuality of the board, whist stabilising it. This piece features just about every characteristic to be found in beautiful timber; Knots, ripples, voids and a constant change of colour, which make this piece a true stunner, and born centrepiece.
We sat the Ash slab on our stretchered three legged base, and the wedged tenons, which are seamlessly joined through the tables top showcase the care, and craft taken with this piece.
Finished with 4 coats of hardwax oil, the piece is durable, water resistant, whilst still keeping its natural tactility and colouring.
